Drew Gibson Honored By Southern Conference

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College men’s basketball student-athlete Drew Gibson received several All-Southern Conference honors this week. He was named to the Coaches All-Southern Conference team and named All-Southern Conference third-team by the Southern Conference Sports Media Association.
Gibson, a senior guard from Los Angeles, California, leads the Terriers with 6.0 assists per game and is second on the team with 11.9 points per game. Among the Southern Conference, he is third in assists (6.0 apg), third in assist/turnover ratio (2.15), fourth in minutes played (33.07), fourth in free throw percentage (79.7%), ninth in three-point percentage (41.5%), and 16th in scoring (11.9 ppg).
At Wofford, he is second all-time in assists with 395. His 211 steals are third all-time in school history. Gibson has scored 995 career points, five shy of becoming the 38th player in school history to reach the 1,000 point mark.
Wofford finished the regular season 15-15, the most wins since the 1994-95 season. The Terriers will open the Southern Conference Tournament on Friday, March 7 at 3:00 pm against Western Carolina. The winner of the game will face top-seeded Davidson on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
