Kyle Behrendt Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford outfielder Kyle Behrendt has been named to the 2008 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Third Team.
Behrendt, a sophomore from Greenwood, S.C., has started 44 games in left field for the Terriers this season. He is batting .399 with 50 hits and 25 RBIs. He has added ten stolen bases and has a .987 fielding percentage. Behrendt is a sophomore majoring in finance with a 3.68 grade point average.
This marks the fifth straight season a Wofford baseball player has received All-District honors. He joins David Dufour (2004), John Brandt (2005, 2006, 2007) and Brandon Waring (2007) as Terriers recognized.
Other Southern Conference schools represented on the All-District Team included The Citadel, Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, UNC Greensboro and Elon. The district includes schools in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
All student-athletes that received first team honors are advanced to the Academic All-America ballot. The Academic All-America Team will be announced on May 27.
