SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Wofford women's soccer team and head coach Amy Kiah have announced the Terriers' 2008 schedule, highlighted by a season-opening match against an ACC opponent and two tournaments, including the Wofford Invitational.

"I'm excited about the opponents on our non-conference schedule, which complement our Southern Conference slate well," said Kiah. "Our home tournament will feature solid regional competition at Snyder Field."

Wofford will kick off its 15th season and 10th under Kiah's direction with an Aug. 22 meeting at North Carolina State. The tilt, which will be the first regular-season contest at the new on-campus N.C. State Soccer Stadium, will be the third in the series against the Wolfpack and the first since the 1999 campaign.

The Terriers will play an away match at High Point and in the Furman-hosted Select Kick-Off Classic against Canisius and Coastal Carolina before opening the Snyder Field schedule Sept. 5 against South Carolina State.

The next week, Sept. 12 and 14, the squad remains at home to host the Wofford Invitational. The Terriers face Presbyterian and Kennesaw State, respectively, with Furman rounding out the four-team field.

Following a road trip to VCU, Wofford returns home to open Southern Conference action against Georgia Southern and Davidson. The Terriers then hit the road for three-straight league contests.

Wofford then kicks off a three-game SoCon homestand against new league member Samford Oct. 12. A pair of contests in Charleston, S.C., are on the docket before the regular-season finale against Furman at Snyder Field Oct. 30.

The Southern Conference Tournament begins on campus sites Nov. 2 before moving to Charleston, S.C., for the semifinals and championship Nov. 7 and 9, respectively.
