SPARTANBURG, SC – The Southern Conference has announced the league television schedule that will air on SportSouth this fall. Wofford will be featured in three conference games, giving the Terriers a total of six televised games this season.

Wofford will appear on SportSouth against Chattanooga, at Elon and against The Citadel. All three SportSouth games will begin at 3:00 pm. In addition, the games at Georgia Southern and against Furman will be televised on CSS. The contest at Appalachian State has been moved to Friday, October 31 and will air nationally on ESPN2.

Back for their second year of Southern Conference football on SportSouth, play-by-play announcer Tom Werme will be joined by analyst Sam Wyche in the SportSouth booth this season.

The 2008 SoCon football schedule on SportSouth includes three games featuring the three-time defending NCAA Division I FCS national champions Appalachian State, three match-ups with Southern Conference co-champions Wofford, new SoCon member school Samford and a rivalry match-up between Georgia Southern and Furman on Saturday, November 15.

Saturday, October 25 – Wofford @ Elon – 3 p.m. ET
Saturday, November 1 – Furman @ Samford – 3 p.m. ET
Saturday, November 8 – The Citadel @ Wofford – 3 p.m. ET
Saturday, November 15 – Georgia Southern @ Furman – 3 p.m. ET
Saturday, November 22 – Appalachian State @ Western Carolina – 3 p.m. ET

The Southern Conference includes 12 schools from five states – Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee – all of which fall within the SportSouth distribution area. League members include Appalachian State University, College of Charleston, The Citadel, Davidson College, Elon University, Furman University, Georgia Southern University, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Samford University, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Western Carolina University and Wofford College.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced on Wednesday that they have signed Wofford wide receiver Andy Strickland. Strickland led the Terriers in receiving each of the last three seasons and earned second-team All-Conference honors in 2008.

The Wofford football team completed spring practice on Wednesday afternoon with a short, 60-play scrimmage. The practice was the last of fifteen days allocated by the NCAA for spring practice.
