Bryan Jackson at meet
SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Wofford men's and women's cross country programs, under the direction of first-year head coach Bryan Jackson, have announced their dates for the upcoming 2008 campaign. The slate features five regular-season meets before the Terriers host the Southern Conference Championship Nov. 1 at Milliken Park in Spartanburg.

"I am the excited about how the schedule came together, capped off by the opportunity to host the league championship," said Jackson. "Each of these meets will prepare us well for the conference meet and help our young squads develop throughout the fall."

Wofford will have a chance to compete on the Milliken Park course prior to the league meet when it opens the campaign Sept. 6 in the Eye Opener, hosted by USC Upstate.

The Terriers then stay in-state to participate in the Winthrop/Asics Invitational, Sept. 20, in Rock Hill, S.C., before traveling to Louisville, Ky., for the Greater Louisville Classic Oct. 4.

The two squads will then run in two meets in one week beginning Oct. 11 at the Furman Invitational in Greenville, S.C. Wofford continues the stretch six days later by concluding the regular season Oct. 17 in Boone, N.C., at the Blue Ridge Open.

The Terriers will welcome the other 11 Southern Conference member schools to Spartanburg for the SoCon Championship Nov. 1 at Milliken Park.

Following a two-week break, Wofford will then travel to Clemmons, N.C., for the NCAA Southeast Regionals hosted by Wake Forest Nov. 15.

The NCAA Championship, hosted by Indiana State, is scheduled for Nov. 24 in Terre Haute, Ind.
