Jake Williams Named To Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team

SPARTANBURG, SC –Wofford College outfielder Jake Williams has been named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team as chosen by Collegiate Baseball.
Williams, a freshman from Greer, South Carolina and a graduate of Riverside High School, was second on the team with a .348 batting average. He started all 53 games played and was also third on the team with 10 home runs and 111 total bases. His .613 slugging percentage led the team.
He is one of only three players from the Southern Conference named to the All-American Team, joining Furman’s Reese Wade and Elon’s Tom Gridwood. Williams is just the fourth Terrier to be named, joining Michael Gilmartin in 2007, Matt Lein in 2002 and J.D. Melton in 2006.
Williams will be playing this summer in the Hawaii Collegiate Baseball League.
