Men’s Track and Field Earns High Mark in the Classroom

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association recently announced its 2008 Division I Men’s All-Academic Track and Field Teams. Wofford was one of only two Southern Conference schools to be represented on the list. The Terriers sported a cumulative GPA of 3.190 to place them 10th out of the 48 schools who qualified.
Wofford’s team GPA placed them ahead of schools such as Stanford, Columbia, Kansas State, Rice and fellow conference school Chattanooga. Lipscomb finished at the top with a cumulative GPA of 3.330.
Teams must have a minimum weighted cumulative GPA of 3.000 on a 4.000 scale. All student-athletes on either the indoor or the outdoor NCAA official team roster must be included in the GPA calculation. Programs must also be a member of the USTFCCCA.
