SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Wofford women's soccer team has concluded its preseason camp and will head to North Carolina for the first two regular-season matches this weekend. The Terriers are kicking off their 15th season overall and 10th under current head coach Amy Kiah.

"We are excited about getting the chance to play this weekend and compete against a couple top-notch programs," noted Kiah. "Both games will give us a good chance to gauge where we stand."

Wofford begins the campaign at 7 p.m. Friday against ACC foe North Carolina State in Raleigh, N.C. The two teams have met twice previously, although the last meeting came in 1999 with the Wolfpack claiming a narrow 1-0 decision. The Terriers will be the first team to play a regular-season match at the new on-campus NC State Soccer Stadium.

Wofford then concludes the weekend with a 2 p.m. Sunday match at High Point in High Point, N.C. The Terriers own two victories in their all-time series against the Panthers.

Six starters and 11 letterwinners return to Coach Kiah's squad this fall after it finished seventh in the Southern Conference in 2007. Wofford was picked by the league's head coaches to place ninth out of 12 schools this fall. The top eight will compete in the Southern Conference Tournament, an event in which the Terriers have competed seven times in nine seasons under Kiah's watch.
