SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College senior fullback Dane Romero has been named to the 2008 Sports Network All-America First Team. In addition, senior offensive lineman Derek Wooten and senior linebacker Seth Goldwire earned honorable mention recognition.

Dane Romero, a senior from West Chester, Ohio, led the Terriers with 1078 yards on 210 carries. His 23 rushing touchdowns were the second-most in school history. His 138 points on the season were sixth in the country and first in the Southern Conference.

Derek Wooten, a senior from Rock Hill, S.C., anchored an offensive line that allowed only five sacks all season, best in the nation. The line also blocked for the Terrier running game that was first in the conference and second in the nation.

Seth Goldwire, a senior from Guyton, Georgia, led the Terriers in tackles with 95 on the season. He has also added two interceptions, which led the team, along with 4.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.

Romero is the first Terrier to earn first team honors from the Sports Network since Eric Deutsch and Lee Basinger were honored in 2004. Katon Bethay was a third-team selection in 2005.

Wofford reached the NCAA FCS Playoffs for the second straight season and third time in the last six years. Overall, the team posted a 9-3 record and were 7-1 in the Southern Conference for a second-place finish.
