On Tuesday, October 13, the entire Wofford baseball team took time-out from the fall conditioning and practice schedule to play ball with children from the Carolina Miracle League.
The Carolina Miracle League is a baseball league for children with disablities serving Spartanburg, Cherokee and Union Counties in South Carolina and Polk and Rutherford Counties in North Carolina. The CML plays a seven-week fall schedule and an eight week spring schedule.
The Terrier baseball team interacted with approximately 60 children during the "doubleheader." In Miracle League play no score is kept, no outs are recorded and everyone on each team bats twice in the one-hour, two inning game.
Wofford has sponsored a team in the league since its inception in 2007, with team taking on the "Terriers" nickname. The other four teams in the fall league are named for Spartanburg Methodist College, Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic and the collegiate summer league Spartanburg Blue Eagles.
