TERRIER TALES: Program gives children incentive to read for enjoyment
The Wofford College athletic department and Spartanburg County Public Libraries have teamed up again in 2009 to continue a special reading program, “Terrier Tales”, for elementary school children throughout Spartanburg County. The program is designed to reward children for reading during the school year. Children who complete the program receive a free ticket to any home Wofford football game and all men's and women's home basketball games this season (based on ticket availability).
To participate, children check out a book at any of the ten SCPL locations. Upon completing the book, the child returns to the branch with their bookmark to have it stamped by the librarian. Once your child completes five books and receives five stamps, the bookmark becomes a free ticket to any home Wofford football or basketball game (based on ticket availability). Wofford will mail a new bookmark to your child once it is turned in at the game and the process continues throughout the basketball season.
Thanks to the Spartanburg County Public Libraries and all seven school districts in Spartanburg County for making this program possible. Please contact Wofford Sports Marketing at 864-597-4090.
