This marks the first time Wofford has had two players named Academic All-District in the same season. Schuermann becomes only the second player in school history to receive the honor twice, as he also earned second-team honors in 2008.
The ESPN The Magazine All-District team is selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Wofford is in the third district, which includes schools in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. Nominees must have at least a 3.30 grade point average.
The Terriers will travel to Furman on Tuesday night for the final Southern Conference game of the season. The final regular season game will be November 7 at Georgia State and the SoCon Tournament will begin on November 13. The Terriers are currently 8-2-3 overall and will have the first winning season since 1994, the final year in NCAA Division II.
