Head women's soccer coach Amy Kiah has announced the addition of Erika Christensen to the 2009 freshman class.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Head women’s soccer coach Amy Kiah has announced the addition of goalkeeper Erika Christensen to the 2009 recruiting class.

“Erika will be a great addition to our squad next fall,” commented Kiah. “She is a technically sound goalkeeper and will bring added depth to that position for us. We are excited to add her to the team.”

Christensen, who hails from Sullivans Island, S.C., attended Bishop England High School, where she was a four-year starter for coach Dave Snyder. She led her Bishop England team to three straight state championships while also leading her CUFC Elite club soccer team to two state runner-up titles.

The 5-7 goalkeeper was named all-region as a sophomore and both SCHSSCA and HSSR all-state as a junior and senior. As a senior she was named the Coaches Association of Women’s Sports AA Player of the Year.

Christensen also played two years of varsity basketball for Bishop England. She was named a National Merit Commended Scholar and is a member of the Model UN and Key Club.

Christensen will join Chelsea Ashworth (Cumming, Ga.), Ellen Ezekiel (Vestavia Hills, Ala.), Jewel Kawamoto (Leawood, Ks.) and Amanda Morris (Huntsville, Ala.) as a Terrier freshman in the fall of 2009.
