Complete 2009 Schedule

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Head coach Amy Kiah announced today the 2009 Wofford women’s soccer schedule. The slate includes nine home games and a road trip to face ACC-foe Clemson.

After kicking off the year with a preseason scrimmage, the Terriers will face a tough August schedule, traveling to Upstate opponent Clemson on August 22 and hosting Virginia Commonwealth University on August 30.

Wofford will start September with a home match against UNC-Asheville on September 3, followed by a trip to neighbor USC-Upstate on September 6. The Terriers will then have a two game home stand, hosting High Point and Winthrop on September 11 and 13, respectively.

After trips to in-state rivals Presbyterian and SC State on September 17 and 21, Wofford will begin Southern Conference play, traveling to Elon on the 25th and UNC Greensboro on the 27th to complete its four-game road trip in September.

October will begin with a three-game home stand, with the Terriers hosting College of Charleston on October 2, The Citadel on October 4, and Chattanooga on October 9. Wofford will then hit the road for three consecutive games, traveling first to newest Southern Conference member Samford on October 11. The Terriers will take on the Wildcats of Davidson on October 16, then travel to the southern end of the conference to face Georgia Southern on October 18.

The team’s last home stand will take place the weekend of October 23-25, with the Terriers taking on Appalachian State on Friday and Western Carolina on Sunday. Wofford will close out the regular season with a trip to rival Furman on Thursday, October 29 in preparation for the Southern Conference tournament.

The 2009 Southern Conference tournament will be held November 1 and 6-8 with the top four seeds making the tournament. The location of the tournament will be determined at a later date based on seeding.
