Ralph Polson action
Complete 2009 Schedule

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College head men’s soccer coach Ralph Polson announced today the 2009 schedule, highlighted by one home tournament at Snyder Field. In addition, the Terriers will face Clemson and N.C. State.

The 2009 campaign kicks off with two exhibition matches, at Winthrop on August 20 and at home against Carson-Newman on August 24. The start to the regular season will come on September 1 at East Tennessee State.

The Terriers square off against  Coastal Carolina on September 20.

The following weekend, Wofford will participate in the South Carolina/Tennessee Soccer Challenge, also held in Spartanburg, facing Belmont on September 25 and Lipscomb on September 27 in a square off between the states.

The end of September will mark the start of the Southern Conference schedule, with the Terriers traveling to Appalachian State on September 30. After a home league contest against UNC Greensboro on October 3, the Terriers will take on two non-conference road trips before resuming Southern Conference play.

Highlighting the tail end of the schedule is a trip to ACC foe Clemson on October 27. The two teams have met nine times over the years, with the most recent meeting resulting in a 1-0 win for the Tigers at Snyder Field last season.

The SoCon Tournament begins Nov. 7 with the opening round played at campus sites. Semifinals and championship will take place Nov. 13 and 15.
