FOOTBALL: Ticket plans now available for 2009 season
Make your plans now to join head coach Mike Ayers and company for another exciting season of Wofford Terrier football! Season and group ticket plans are now available!
Thousands of Terrier faithful received the new Football Fan Guide in the mail and via the web earlier this month. Inside the Fan Guide are details on several new promotions for the 2009 season. Here are some highlights:
9th Annual Youth Football Night -- Wofford's annual celebration for area youth football organizations will go under the lights! Mark your calendar for the home opener, Saturday, September 12 as Wofford hosts Charleston Southern at 7:00 p.m. For the first time in the event's history, youth football teams will have the opportunity to play exhibition contests pre-game and during halftime under the Gibbs Stadium lights! All youth football players and cheerleaders in uniform will be admitted free.
Youth football organization coaches and leadership across the Upstate should contact Wofford Sports Marketing at 864-597-4110 for information on how to participate in the pre-game and halftime exhibitions.
Additionally, the Charleston Southern game will feature the national anthem performed by elementary school children from across Spartanburg County and plans are in the works for a special promotion for Boy Scouts across the Upstate as well. Stay tuned for complete details!
Kids Eat Free Saturday -- In an effort to make Terrier football even more family friendly, Wofford Sports Marketing and WSSL 100 FM have launched "Kids Eat Free Saturday" for two games this fall. The deal is pretty simple and unique for college football. Purchase a $10 child ticket for the September 12 game vs. Charleston Southern or the November 14 game vs. Samford and receive a voucher good for a hot dog, chips and fountain drink at no additional charge! You can't beat that deal! (The offer is not valid for complimentary tickets tied to youth football teams or the Boss' Buddies Kids Club, but a food voucher is available for $5 per child.)
"The Sod Squad" -- New for 2009 is the Sod Squad found on the North End Zone (scoreboard) hill. If you are the type of family that enjoys the game, would like to give your children a place to roam and save money, then the Sod Squad is for you. Sod Squad prices for adults are $5 off regular admission! Fans are allowed to bring a folding chair or blanket in this area. (Children's ticket prices are only $10 for all five home games on the sod.) Season ticket plans for the Sod Squad are available for $90 per adult.
Boss' Buddies Kids Club -- Back for another year, the growing official kids club of Wofford athletics may be the best deal of all. For $30 your child recieves free admission to all home football games (excluding homecoming), all men's and women's basketball games (based on ticket availability), all baseball games and volleyball matches! PLUS, all members get a specially designed t-shirt, football "all-access" day and basketball pizza party.
