2010 Baseball Schedule
SPARTANBURG, SC – Wofford College announced the 2010 baseball schedule today, which is highlighted by a home games against Pittsburgh and Duke. Road trips to New Mexico State, Vanderbilt and South Carolina are also on the slate for head coach Todd Interdonato and his squad.
The Terriers will play a total of 55 games, including 30 contests at Russell C. King Field on the Wofford campus. The season will start with a three-game series against Pittsburgh beginning on Friday, February 19. The following weekend will see the Terriers play single games against Dayton on Friday and Sunday, plus a doubleheader against Butler on Saturday, February 27. That weekend’s games will be held in conjunction with USC Upstate as part of the Courtyard by Marriott Classic.
Wofford will host UNC Asheville on Wednesday, March 3, followed by a three-game weekend series against St. Peter’s beginning on March 5. The Terriers will host ACC-foe Duke on Wednesday, March 10. The Southern Conference slate will begin on Friday, March 12 with a three-game series at Davidson.
After a game Wednesday, March 17 at Presbyterian, Wofford will host Georgia Southern for a three game series beginning Friday, March 19. The Terriers will host Presbyterian on Wednesday, March 24.
The big road trip for the Terriers will begin on Friday, March 26 when Wofford plays at New Mexico State for a four-game series. The team will then head to Nashville for two games at Vanderbilt on March 30 and 31.
In April, Wofford will host The Citadel (April 2-4) and have road conference series at Western Carolina (April 9-11), at College of Charleston (April 16-18) and at UNC Greensboro (April 23-25). The Terriers will also play home-and-home series with East Tennessee State (April 14 and May 5) and Gardner-Webb (April 21 and 28).
Wofford will host Elon (April 30-May 2) and Samford (May 7-9) in SoCon action before traveling to Columbia to face South Carolina on Tuesday, May 11. A visit to Furman beginning on May 14 and a home series against Appalachian State starting on May 21 complete the regular season schedule. The Southern Conference Tournament will be held from May 26-30 at Riley Park in Charleston, South Carolina.
