The official boston terriers of the Athletic Department
Blitz II
"Ayeryel" began her role as the Wofford mascot as a 'walk-on' substitute for the original Blitz at South Carolina on September 20, 2008.
At the time, that was considered a fill-in role since no health problems were known for Blitz at the time. When Blitz passed away, Ayeryel assumed the role of interim mascot for the remainder of the 2008 season. She will take over as the second official mascot of the Wofford athletic department at the beginning of the 2009 football season and thus also assume the name of Blitz II.
Ayeryel is named for head football coach Mike Ayers by her owners Adam ('05) and Heather ('03) Regenthal of Columbia, S.C. Adam played football for the Terriers and Heather was a cheerleader during her time at Wofford.

Blitz
Sept. 6, 2003-Sept. 6, 2008
Blitz, debuted on September 6, 2003 as the “official” mascot of the Athletic Department. Blitz (real name "Ka-Dee") was a pure bred Boston Terrier owned by Chris and Jean Williams of Spartanburg. Complete with her specially-designed log cabin doghome made by Blue Ridge Log Cabins, Blitz roamed the sidelines in front of the student section during every home football Saturday at Gibbs Stadium. Blitz did not missed a home game from 2003-08 and traveled with the football team to Western Carolina, The Citadel, Furman, Delaware, South Carolina and North Carolina State.
During the final home game of 2006, the Athletic Department honored Blitz with a varsity letter for completion of her fourth season as the official mascot of the Terriers. Blitz also visited several Spartanburg area elementary schools during a January 2007 Sports Marketing interim class as part of the "Tour of the Terrier."
Blitz passed away on October 9, 2008, just two days before Homecoming, during surgery to remove an abdominal mass found only a day prior.
Below is the record of the football team with Blitz in attendance at the stadium for the game. Blitz won her first game in 2003 against South Carolina State (35-13) and the last game she roamed the sidelines in 2008 against Charleston Southern (41-23). Ironically those two games fell on the same date - September 6 - five years apart.

What's in the name?
Some have wondered where the name "Blitz" comes from. It has no connection to Wofford at all, however handling a boston that is on the prowl or eager to get somewhere is similar to an all-out blitz put on by a charging defensive line and linebackers. So, while our breed of mascot may be small, the energy and speed by which they attack brings us to the name "Blitz."
The lineage of Wofford's boston terrier mascots are primarily called upon to attend only football games so the name fits nicely into the dog's main purpose for the College as well.
Boss the Terrier
Number: 00
The fearless leader of the Terriers, Boss (short for Boston Terrier) has entertained Wofford fans since 2001 at football, basketball and baseball contests. Boss is also the only mascot with his own holiday, October 16 is National Boss's day (well maybe it's not just for him but he celebrates it anyway). Boss also participated in the Carolina Panthers "Mascot Mania" mascot football game halftime show at Bank of America Stadium on October 29, 2006.
Lil' Ruff
Number: 1/2
Lil' Ruff, our "kid sized" terrier roams the sidelines entertaining the young and the young at heart every Saturday in Gibbs Stadium and select home basketball games.
