All camps are designed for athletes entering the 9th-12th grades. The deadline for registration is one week prior to the start of camp. Any individual who registers after the deadline will be charged a $30.00 late registration fee.

Option Camps

Helmets and shoulder pads (if your state rules allow the use of shoulder pads) will be worn. There will be no contact or scrimmages. There will be an emphasis on technique.

  • QB: Teach stance, footwork, reads, throwing mechanics, play action passing, read progression for the option and the passing game.
  • Backs: Teach stance, alignment, footwork, tracks, mesh, blocks, and pitch phase.
  • OL: Teach stance, splits, steps, pad level, line calls, and schemes.
  • WR/TE: Teach stance, route running, ball skills, body control, and blocking. Emphasis on scheme, communication, and work ethic.

Trap/Trap Option
Belly Option
Play Action and vertical passing game
Quick passing game
 
Defensive Camp
Only helmets will be worn. There will be no contact or scrimmages. There will be an emphasis on technique.
  • DL: Teach stance, alignment, footwork, keys, contact, separation, escape, pursuit, pass rush techniques, and proper tackling techniques.
  • LB: Teach stance, alignment, footwork, keys, run responsibilities, pass responsibilities, proper tackling techniques, hit and shed techniques.
  • DB: Teach stance, alignment, footwork, keys, backpedal, run support, proper tackling techniques, pass coverage techniques, pass coverage concepts, and man to man techniques.

Mission Statement:
As a member of the Mike Ayers Football Camps you will have the opportunity to develop your individual skills and use them in a team atmosphere.
 
Food and Housing:
The campers will stay in rooms in a centrally located dorm. It is the camper’s responsibility to bring bed linen, pillow, toiletries and spending money for the camp store. 24 hour supervision by trained personnel is provided for the camper’s safety. Campers will enjoy three balanced meals a day in the Wofford cafeteria.
 
Insurance and Physicals:
Each applicant must have a physical check-up by a family physician within the past 12 months. If the applicant has had a physical check-up during the past 12 months for participation in school athletics, then a copy of that physical is sufficient. All campers must provide a hard copy of their physical no later than check-in.
